A Note on Terminology

This book translates FDE (Forward Deployed Engineer) as "前线部署工程师" in the Chinese edition; the term is also often rendered "前沿部署工程师" in Chinese recruiting contexts. In the English edition, the role is referred to throughout simply as Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE).
